The Château Villandry is a Renaissance château located in the famous Loire Valley in France. Villandry is most famous for its large and beautiful potager garden, a combination of the ornate flair of the French Renaissance with the utilitarian nature of medieval gardens. During the 18th century the gardens had been replaced with an Anglo-Chinoiserie garden, popular throughout continental Europe at the time. The gardens as they are today are the result of a long and careful restoration.
