Garden synopsis:

The gardens of the Villa Gamberaia date mainly from the 18th-century baroque movement of Italy. Unlike the flamboyant and theatrical styling associated with the baroque style in places such as Rome and Paris, baroque villas of Tuscany were typically much more retrained. Villa Gamberaia is noted for its adherence to many of the principles of Villa design as laid out by Leon Battista Alberti in De Re Aedificatoria.
