Synopsis:

The Mezquita of Córdoba is a Catholic cathedral in the city of Córdoba, Spain. Prior to the Christian Reconquista of Spain, the building was a grand mosque, early Christian church and Roman temple. The most important historical structures of the building date from the period of Moorish rule in Spain. The interior of the Mezquita has often been described as a forest of stone columns. The courtyard of the Mezquita, known as the Court of the Oranges, is the oldest known garden in the world to maintain its original layout, though there have been some modifications.
